Vishal Surya
Vishal Surya is a senior at Seven Lakes High School and is enthusiastic about biology and its intersections with public policy. He is currently a captain at both of the Seven Lakes Science Olympiad team, and was formerly the Beckendorff Junior High captain in 2022. He is a 2023 USA Biology Olympiad National Finalist and 2022 USABO Top 50 Recipient. With 4 years and nearly 80 medals worth of Science Olympiad experience, he won 1st place at the 2023 MIT Invitational and 4th place at the National tournament in Anatomy and Physiology. Outside of Olympiads, Vishal likes to compete in Lincoln Douglas debate, play ping pong, bike with his friends, and make grilled cheese sandwiches.

David Lu
David Lu is a senior at Seven Lakes High School. In Public Forum Debate, David has been consistently ranked among the top 10 debaters in the nation, receiving high-ranking recognitions by the National Speech and Debate Association, National Symposium for Debate, Harvard University, Emory University, University of Florida, and more. In addition to placing among the top 6 finalists at the National Speech and Debate Tournament, he has qualified all four years of high school to the Gold Division for the Tournament of Champions, the most prestigious national tournament, and received 17 bids along the way. Outside of debate, David enjoys reading philosophy and watching professional football.

Anthony Li
Anthony is a senior at Seven Lakes High School. He is interested in mathematics and computer science. He is a 4x AIME qualifier, a USA(J)MO qualifier, and a UIL Computer Science State Runner-Up, among other numerous awards. He masters several computer programming languages, including Python, Java and C++, and achieved perfect scores in both AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A classes. His hobbies include fishing and sports such as football and basketball.

Aarjav Desai
Aarjav Desai is a junior at Seven Lakes. He started with BHE MST and continued TMSCA in middle school, where he won a few General Science Trophies. He went on to win a total of 7 state medals in Science Olympiad, 4 golds, along with 3 National Medals, and numerous other medals throughout the years. He is a Coach, of the BHE Math and Science Team, which has won multiple sweepstakes trophies. Other than biking, he likes to run track, bike, and play video games.

Richard Zhang
Richard is a senior competing in Seven Lakes. He won 1st place in both Remote Sensing and WiFi Lab and 3rd place in Astro at 2022 Science Olympiad Nationals, and is competes in USNCO. Richard started joining MST from Alexander Elementary as state science champion and continued in Scioly for Beckendorff with abundant medals. Richard is also interested in programming with USACO silver.

Annie Zhou
Annie Zhou is a junior at Seven Lakes High School. She is passionate about physics and earth science, as well as anything related to problem-solving and strategy. She has many medals on the invitational, regional, and state levels of Science Olympiad, in events such as Crave the Wave, Rocks and Minerals, WGYN, and especially Codebusters. Aside from STEM, Annie also enjoys art, competing yearly in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition, as well as playing violin, eating all sorts of food, and being out in nature.

Malachi Dawson
Malachi Dawson is a 9th grader and is a captain of the 2024-2025 Beckendorff Science Olympiad Team. He has placed in several different events from the regional level to nation-wide competitions, earning more than 30 medals, over half of which being gold. This includes a 3rd place Fast Facts medal and a 1st place Fossils medal at the National tournament. He has had a passion for science since a young age and greatly enjoys sharing his love of STEM through teaching others. In his free time, Malachi enjoys playing guitar, making digital art, and songwriting. He hopes to inspire students to achieve beyond their expectations.

Boxuan "Risus" Zhao
Boxuan Zhao is a senior at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, TX, with a strong passion for biology and scientific research. He has excelled in science competitions, earning top placements in nationwide invitationals in the Science Olympiad, including 4th place in Anatomy & Physiology at the MIT Invitational. He has received prestigious awards such as the USABO Semifinal Certificate of Merit. Boxuan is proficient in English and Mandarin and serves as the vice president of the Seven Lakes High School National Chinese Honor Society. In addition to his academic achievements, he has been a dedicated member of the cross-country team for two years and the track team for one year. He likes to spend time with his cat Sunny and friends in his free time.

Missy Han
Missy Han is a junior at Taylor High School, where she is captain of the public speaking club and cross-country team. She is also a dedicated track athlete and dancer. She has won a national silver medal as well as gold and silver keys in the Scholastic Art and Writing contest. She is a TJSDA state champion for original oratory in 2022. Missy has also attended the Houston half marathon and is a YAGP finalist.

Michael Xia
Michael Xia is a freshman at Seven Lakes High School and a current captain of the 2024-2025 Beckendorff Science Olympiad team. In the past years, he has placed 1st and 2nd at nationals in Write It, CAD It, and Meteorology, respectively, also placing 8th and 10th in Roller Coaster and Flight. Besides nationals, he has also placed countless times in other tournaments, varying from regional to national levels. He also has a passion for music, having played both the piano and the viola. In his free time, he likes to play tennis and hang out with friends.

Gerard Zhou
Gerard Zhou, a senior at Seven Lakes High School with a deep passion for science and extracurricular activities, is a dedicated member of his school's Science Olympiad team. Actively participating in events such as Experimental Design and Disease Detectives, Gerard explores his interests in scientific inquiry, problem-solving, and public health. Outside of academics, Gerard is an avid cyclist and basketball player. Biking allows him to explore the outdoors, stay active, and clear his mind. Basketball is another passion of his; he loves the teamwork, strategy, and physicality of the game. Both activities help him maintain a balanced lifestyle and provide a welcome break from his studies.

Shivani Mukkamala
Shivani Mukkamala is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. She has been a part of the Beckendorff SciOly and MST team. She has 3 years of experience competing in Science Olympiad, having won multiple medals at State and Invitational tournaments, including a National medal in Crime Busters. She was a captain of the Beckendorff SciOly Team, with their team getting 3rd place overall at Nationals. Shivani is passionate and loves learning about all areas of chemistry, and in her free time she enjoys baking and going on long bike rides.

Christopher Quiroga
Christopher is currently a freshman at Seven Lakes High School. He has won multiple awards in the past, including 2nd place in his elementary school’s spelling bee. As for TMSCA, he has been in his school’s math and science team for 3 consecutive years. Christopher has placed many times and scored a near perfect in science at regionals. He is also a Life Scout in Boy Scouts, and is currently working towards his Eagle Scout rank. Some of his hobbies include visiting museums, graphic design, and video editing.

Celina Gao
Celina Gao is a 9th grader at Seven Lakes High School and a captain of the 2024-2025 BDJH Science Olympiad team. She enjoys participating in Scioly where she placed 3rd in Write It Do It at Nationals. She is also an active athlete, having participated in both Beckendorff's track and tennis team. On top of that, she is currently part of the Katy Rope Warriors team and even competed in the 2024 IJRU Nationals competition. Outside of school, she excels at art and piano, earning a gold key in the 2024 Scholastic Art contest and second place in the 2023 and 2024 DeBose national music competition.

Sreejit Mukherjee
Sreejit Mukherjee is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. His academic accomplishments include National placements in Quiz Bowl, 3rd and 4th at Solar System and Dynamic Planet at Scioly Nationals, and, mathematics, where he placed 15th in state math kangaroo, and 21st nationally. He has also consistently near-perfect scored in TMSCA. He enjoys solving Rubik's cubes, and learning to code in his free time.

Grace Xie
Grace Xie is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. She has a passion for art and debate. Grace debated for Huaxia Chinese School Houston and won multiple awards, including a tournament win and several breaks. She competed at the national level at MSTOC. Grace has two blue ribbons in KatyISD's rodeo art program, and KatyISD exhibited her work at their first livestock show art exhibition. She also placed third in Houston Rodeo's junior high quick draw competition. In her first year competing in the Scholastic Art and Writing competition, Grace earned two silver keys. She enjoys drawing and reading in her free time.

Alan Yue
Alan Yue is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School, and has had previous experience with Science Olympiad, winning 1st in WICI at Nationals and 1st in WIDI, 2nd in Crave the Wave, and 3rd in Road Scholar at Regionals this year. Also very interested in math, he has participated in TMSCA since 5th grade, gone to Mathcounts State Round twice, and Math League Nationals this year, placing 13th in the whole nation. Some of his hobbies include violin, soccer, and chess.

Nevin James
Nevin James is currently a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. He joined the Seven Lakes Junior High School Science Olympiad team, and has been a part of the Science Olympiad since then. He has received several medals at the invitational, regional and state level in Division B, in events like Meteorology, Solar System, and Crave the Wave. He has medaled 1st in Meteorology and Solar System at the state level and continues to participate throughout his high school career. He also is an active member of the SLH FRC team, as well as SLHS orchestras. In his free time, he likes to play basketball and work out.

Anvi Mathur
Anvi Mathur is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. She has earned numerous Science Olympiad medals at invitational, regional, and state levels in events such as Road Scholar, Rotor Egg Drop, and Sounds of Music. Anvi enjoys earth science, physics, geography, and building things in general. She has also competed at the national level for science bee, geography bee, and robotics. In her free time, Anvi loves swimming, hanging out with friends, building lego, traveling, and trying new foods.

Brendan Liu
Hi, my name is Brendan Liu. I am currently a middle schooler attending Memorial Middle School and am planning on going to Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. I mainly do debate as I also attend Huaxia Chinese School for it. I have gotten several top finishes in the Houston area as well as maintaining a 90% win rate for debate. On top of those, I have broke every single tournament for debate that I have attended too. I have also gotten to the top 8 best debaters in the whole United States. On top of that, I actively play tournament baseball and basketball.

Krishna Dhiman
Krishna Dhiman, a senior at Seven Lakes High School, is highly interested in physical sciences and its collaboration with Artificial Intelligence. He started his science journey in the 3rd grade when he earned a gold medal for all the sciences in the Indian science olympiad. In his first year in the United States, he won a gold and silver medal in Div. B Scioly states in PA. Throughout Scioly, he has won a total of 11 medals in Div. B and 7 medals in Div. C. He also likes to bike, roller skate, powerlift, and solve the rubik’s cube.

Mia Han is an freshman attending Seven Lakes High School. She has competed and won awards at the Texas Math and Science competitions before switching to Science Olympiad. There, she participated at regionals and won a second place and third place medal for the events Fossils, and Dynamic Planet respectively. She enjoys birdwatching, physics, and reading in her spare time.

Ray Chen
Ray Chen is a freshman attending Seven Lakes High School. He has competed in many AAU tournaments as well as winning 2nd and first in several competitions. He has also participated in AoAA Speech and Debate as well as participating in many science, stem, and engineering classes and programs. He is also currently studying coding as well as practicing his art, building, and creative skills. He competed in the 2022-2023 TMEA Region Orchestra and placed in the top orchestra. Ray likes to play video games, read, and play his instruments in his free time.
